thank you for the reply, i just figured it out that i have downloaded the server edition, now i got the desktop edition and i installed it on my harddisk. During setup it asked for the new partition size that i thought would be used by linxu but actually it was for the windows xp that i already have on my computer....but anyways i got it up and running now and i like the look and feel of it. Now i am trying to find the drivers for my system...i have a question, there is a 64 bit version of linux...is it faster then then 32 bit and how easy it is to fine the drivers and software for the 64 bit version....as my hardware is capable of running the 64 bit version.

Hi Mian:I had problems getting the disc to load the first time I tried as well. I discovered my problem was I had burned both a CD and a DVD as a data disc rather than a disc image. I had used 'CyberLink Power 2Go' to burn (it sure looks like what used to be called Nero) and the default setting when I open the program is data disc. With the 'Power 2Go' program I found the 'Disc Utilities' icon in the opening menu which gave me 5 choices when selected including 'burn disc image'. I selected this as a choice and burned to DVD (it wouldn't accept a CD, it said it was too small and perhaps it was unable to accept the image). When it was burned, I rebooted and since my bios settings are set to look at the CD/DVD drive first, ubuntu booted from the disc.Hope this helps,Anita.Mian Shah wrote:
