I really like 'gallery2', but it's a _wee_ bit more than just a few lines of 
code in a text editor. OTOH, once set up, it's a pleasure to use. Add photos 
and albums at any time, resizes stuff on the fly for you, themes stuff, the 
works. Wants a LAMP environment though.

Simple option: If you use konqueror, there's an option under 'Tools'->'Create 
Image Gallery' which can whip something up for you including thumbnails. Create 
the html, and upload the directory.
