Also, you can reconfigure the gnome panel CPU frequency panel to allow
you to control the clock speed on your CPUs. Unless necessary, crank
the clock speed down low, and you'll find it will save you a lot of
battery as well... not to mention your laptop will run significantly
cooler as a result.
