PRINTER RECOMMENDATIONS ANYONE? (Maurice Murphy)

I would agree with the HP statements. When I was in the market for a new
multifunction printer, Best Buy happened to have "printer days" going on
with Cannon, Lexmark and HP reps in the store. Neither Lexmark or Cannon
could answer any Linux questions but the HP rep was a wealth of knowledge.
I had researched things extensively before going shopping so I would know if
a sales person was blowing smoke up the exit only hole.

I chose the HP 1510 printer and at the time I was still dual booting. Here
is an example of where Ubuntu shines. To install the windows provided
software (most needed for it to function) it took 700MB of HD space and
nearly 35 minutes to go through the multiple software installs. With Dapper
it took litterally 6 clicks and I had the same functionality. Edgy somehow
improved on this reducing the number of clicks to 4 (including the Add
Printer Click). Very impressive.
