Try Easy Cam to install and update the drivers for your webcam.

If Easy Cam does not see the camera, then there are likely no drivers
available for it. Easiest and quickest solution in that case is to
trade in the webcam for one which has Linux drivers already installed
as part of Ubuntu.

Alternatively, you could contact the manufacturer of the device and
ask them to get in touch with the Linux kernel developers, who will
happily write a driver for your webcam.
