I use the default Movie Player (Totem) with the GStreamer extra
plugins and encrypted DVD playback enabled via the libdvdcss2 package.

The extra plugins are added by going to Applications > Add/Remove,
checking "Show unsupported application", then selecting that package
under the Sound & video section.

DVD's then autoplay when inserted.
