I've heard that you should just peel them up carefully with your
fingernail (not a razor or anything that could scratch the surface),
optionally using a hair dryer off and on to soften the adhesive.  Once
it's off, apparently isopropyl alcohol and/or a plastic eraser will
remove the residue.
