Hey Folks!
The next Ubuntu Toronto meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, November
29th, 6:30pm at the linuxcaffe. Currently on the meeting agenda:
* Ubuntu Video project
* Vista launch party publicity stunt (Andrew Hunter)
-> David Patrick is the head organizer of this event, so lets not forget to include him
* Promoting Ubuntu
-> local computer shops
-> end users
* Ojibwe translation discussion
If you have anything Ubuntu or FOSS-related that you'd like to discuss
or work on, add it to the list! Also, does anybody have any
brainstorming ideas for the Ubuntu Video project? Let's try and come up
with some funny FOSS-related commercials, or promotional material.
A few suggestions that have been brought up once or twice:
- A spoof of the IBM Prodigy commercials (Linux is now 16, a rampaging
teenager)
- A spoof of the PC/Mac commercials, but include a third: Linux
- A guy in a cubical, running Windows, handcuffed to his computer and
unable to do anything, the guy in the next cubical is running Linux and
can run free as he likes
These are just a few ideas, which can and SHOULD be expanded upon! Let's
see what our collective creativity can come up with.
See you all at the next meeting!
