Learning C++

Hi all,

	I want to learn C++ so I can hopefully some day in the future be able 
to contribute a little to some of this amazing open source software.  I 
have been toying a little with Gambas (I use Kubuntu) and have a basic 
understanding of programming and the evil OOP :).  I would like to move 
on to larger worlds and see if I can handle a tougher language.

	I can not afford to actually take a full class, even though I would 
like too.  So, I was hoping some people may be able to point me to some 
good how-to's/tutorials and/or resources on the internet that are free. 
  Ones that assume no programming experience would be best, if possible.

	I apologize if this is not a proper question on this list.
