Hello,

New Ubuntu user here. Just partitioned my hard drive and loaded the
software today. Nice.

A friend told me about Ubuntu at a Christmas party after I was
expressing concerns about what I was reading about Vista. I am not a
programmer, network specialist, etc. Just a very good Windows/Office
user who builds computers on the side. So this will be a interesting
experiment. It is very hard to turn away from my stable XP Pro
environment. Decisions about which software to view and archive my
numerous e-mail accounts, etc, are all up in the air. I guess it is like
giving up a security blanket. Wait a minute, did I mention security and
Windows in the same sentence? Oops, sorry!
