is now home to what might be the craziest, most ambitious project yet; the
linuxguitar.
The idea is to mount a community development project spearheaded by master
guitar maker Mark Kett.
He is dogged, super-creative, open minded and EXTREMELY talented. He has a
fully equiped studio, complete with every wood working toolo imaginable and
CnC machines.

why ?
well, for the fun of it, for starters, but some of the ideas kicking around
would bring forth a truly remarkable instrument.

imagine a guitar that was;
beautiful, in a space-worn aluminum and ebony way, festooned with OSS
symbology
-had an LCD flip-out touch-screen control interface
-self recording
-used standard VST plug-ins on board
-processed midi thru-put
-self tuning (with the possibility of alternate tunings on-the-fly) using
servo controlled, PLL synthesized tuning.
-multiple on-board USB for cameras, microphone and external storage.
completely open design with production models in mind.

yes, it's completely mad, but with a brilliant master guitar-maker/ hacker/
webmaster dude at the wheel, a CPU team, and YOU, it might even happen.

visit linuxguitar.org to poke around and/or submit ideas and/or join in.
