I have some similar problem. I believe it is k3b trying to play safe
although I have selected in options to force some unsafe operations. Try
this command to verify this:

growisofs -speed=6 -M /dev/dvdrw -R -J -V myVolumeName
/path/with/files/to/add/to/dvd
