Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: brasero
I burned and blanked DVD-RW's previously in jaunty. Everything worked
perfectly.
Since then I did a completely new install of ubuntu (namely Karmic). In
Karmic, I'm not able to blank a DVD-RW. Once I try to perform a blank
(of a written dvd-rw), Brasero shows the following message:
***
Unable to mount blank optical disc
Dbus error
org.gtk.private.remotevolumemonitor.notfound: the given volume was not found
***
After some time however, Brasero says blanking has been completed.
However, it has made the DVD-RW useless. Karmic is not able to detect it
as a blank dvd-rw. In order to fix the issue I have to resort to Windows
where I again erase the DVD-RW. After that Windows detects the dvd-rw as
a blank and I can write stuff to it. Returning to Ubuntu, such a written
dvd-rw is again recognized.
