Thanks, Pedro, I'll try that tomorrow if I can get into GIT that soon -
haven't really worked with it yet...

However there are multiple guys experiencing these problems, see this
post (and the thread associated with it):

It might not have been that exact commit (even though it touches the
parts of DVD-playback making trouble) but it's definitely that
libbrasero-media0-update that broke things for many people.
