Just wanted to add that this also happened to me. At first, I tried to
just install ubuntu-restricted-extras, but that didn't work. I had to
install gstreamer0.10-plugins-ugly to get it working properly.

I tried to add multiple (10) mp3's at once, each causing the same error,
which stated, "not suitable for audio or video media". I'd click OK for
each mp3, and after it caused brasero to close unexpectedly.
