Thank you for your prompt reply.

There is good news on this issue. It appears that the brasero developer has already identified and resolved the problem in the upcoming version of v.2.26.1:

Published in jaunty-proposed on 2009-04-28

brasero (2.26.1-0ubuntu1) jaunty-proposed; urgency=low
  * New upstream release (LP: #361224)
    - Fix bgo #576439 – nautilus crash because of probable double g_free in
      brasero_medium_get_css_feature (Philippe Rouquier)
    - Fix bgo #573929 – nautilus crashed with SIGSEGV in start_thread() (Philippe
      Rouquier) (LP: #335942)

Accordingly, I have updated the packages "brasero" and "libbrasero-
media0" from the repository "proposed" yesterday, and observed that with
this update the problem is gone. And today, it seems to have found its
way into the regular "jaunty-updates".

So, long story short, we can consider that the brasero-nautilus conflict
has been solved and this bug report can be closed. Thanks again.
