** Description changed:
Binary package hint: brasero
Downloaded brasero latest version for Ubuntu 9.04. I had tried using
Nautilus CD burner and got the same message. In "Places" CD is shown as
CD-RW. When it was a Windows machine, it wrote CDs with no problems. I
got the same message as 395922 but I was trying to write a data disc. I
have tried both sizes of discs, 24-R and 700 mb.

+ Update: 7/7/2009. Noted that etc/fstab does not contain "rw" as part of
+ the comma delimited field. This may imply that cdrom0 is read-only.
+ Device is defined as /dev/scd1 and has UUID field:
+
+ UUID=461f1162-fbf1-4a0b-9499-f0e5816981c8 none swap sw 0 0
+ /dev/scd1 /media/cdrom0 udf,iso9660 user,noauto,exec,utf8 0 0
