same problem here.

ubuntu karmic 9.10 64, brasero 2.28.2
i can't burn iso images.

hp dv6110 laptop:
amd athlon(tm) 64 x2 dual-core processor tk-55 1.8 GHz
1GB ddr2

i can write from the optical drive using an ubuntu jaunty live disc (i
dont have a karmic live disc to test on, i have the iso, but thats a bit
of a crowbar in the crate problem)
