It is a bit strange to see that brasero uses cdrdao to blank
the medium....

As the problem is unspecific, this is a typical hint to 
replace the buggy wodim by the official cdrecord:

ftp://ftp.berlios.de/pub/cdrecprd/alpha/
http://cdrecord.berlios.de

If this does not help, try do disable hald as hald
is known for distrurbing the burn process.
