I'm under the impression that the problem in Hardy occurs with
upgrades from an earlier Ubuntu version, not fresh installs.  Is that
wrong?  If that's so, a fresh Intrepid installation wouldn't really
test an upgrade to Intrepid (Gutsy->Hardy->Intrepid).
