Binary package hint: nautilus
I have found this problem with re-writable dvds and cdroms. I can write
once so I have back-up's for my system and also on another, iso version
of linux from download. When I come to use again for later back-up, the
cd is obviously readable but to the command erase, I get an error
message. The permissions on the old data are root, "you cannot change
these permissions" and these were set using the cd/dvd/ Creator program
when I saved the first system backup. I suspect the problem is the
cd/dvd/creator program jibs at these permissions but I can see no way
round it.
Ubuntu 8.04 LTS, HP Pavillion Slimline, but am sure it is a privilege
situation.
