Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: brasero
On hardy, upgraded from gutsy, with uname: Linux blaubeere 2.6.24-16-generic #1 SMP Thu Apr 10 13:23:42 UTC 2008 i686 GNU/Linux
Using brasero 0.7.1-3ubuntu1
Steps to reproduce:
1) From the left side pane (hard disk file browser), add any folder containing files (or containing subfolders with files...) by selecting the folder in the side pane and clicking the "Add" button. (Disk size is shown in the bar to the bottom of the CD view)
2) In the right pane (CD-to-be-burnt-view), click the arrow to open the folder.
3) Select all the files in this folder and press Del or hit the Remove button
Expected:
Disk size is shown as 0, or as big as an empty folder can be.
Actual Result:
Folder in the CD view is empty, but the disk size shows unchanged.
You can repeat this many times for one CD, increasing the disk size more and more while only having empty folders in the disk view.
Removing one of those empty folders from the disk view changes the displayed disk size, but still wrong:
The new disk size is calculated as if all the remaining empty folders are full as original.
Why is this bug important? It does not only work for empty folders, but also if you only remove a single file from within an added folder.
So if you have too much data to burn onto one CD and you decide to remove a single file to make all the rest of the data fit on the CD, you will still have a too big image for the CD.
** Affects: brasero (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
