I just tried to reproduce it. The first time, I was actually too busy with other things to watch out for it (it just displays when the actual burning begins), d'oh.
The second attempt (running right now, shows the correct size of 2834M > 2^31.
).

I'll try a few more times, I have +RW discs :)
The next attempt will be with >4G of data.
