[Bug 113657] DVD/CD burner issues

You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I have an Acer Aspire 3613WLMi laptop with a PHILIPS 'DVD+-RW SDVD8441
DVD/CD burner. The firmware is updated to revision PA49.

On trying to burn a CD (e.g. the ubuntu .iso) it appears to work to a
certain percentage then reports that burning fails. This happens every
time.

Windows XP on the same machine will successfully burn the same file
using NTI software.
