[Bug 133295] Unable to burn dvd-r

I'm unable to burn a DVD-r disc. Ubuntu does recognize that an empty dvd gets inserted, but when I try to burn something to the dvd all programs end with the error:
media is not formatted or unsupported.
I have this problem in k3b, nautilus, gnomebaker and bresero, so it's not program specific.
