From gsilvapt at ubuntu.com Sat Aug 26 22:12:13 2017 From: gsilvapt at ubuntu.com (Gustavo Silva) Date: Sat, 26 Aug 2017 22:12:13 +0000 Subject: Request to join the team and introduction Message-ID: Hello all, I am an Ubuntu user for a while (since 12.04). The system and the community already gave me so much that I decided to give something back in 2015. However, not being a power user, it has always been a difficult task. As I am learning more about software development, I feel capable of doing other technical stuff - namely helping out triaging bug reports. My goal is to keep learning about software development, programming and packaging and this looks like a good opportunity for me to learn the basics of bug reports, how people identify what needs fixing, network a little (getting to know people is always helpful to find guidance if lost, or ask for reviews when I can submit a patch) and contribute with something that makes me feel part of the community. While doing so, I plan on investing some time in educating myself how to code to, first, shift careers to software development and, secondly, be able to be a key player in open source projects - and namely Ubuntu. I have followed the steps suggested in the wiki page and I'm not sure if there is any other special requirement. Please let me know if there's anything you need or some sort of test I need to perform before joining the team. Best regards, Gustavo. -- Best Regards / Obrigado e com os melhores cumprimentos, Gustavo Silva -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
