Particularly annoying bug in owncloud client

The bug report had enough information in it by the time I looked at it
that with minimal detective work I was able to determine two possible
solutions to the bug.  Either of the solutions I've proposed are small
patches that are suitable for a Stable Release Update[1] for Ubuntu 16.04.
