Screensaver isn't triggered right after the first boot

I confirm that /usr/bin/gnome-screensaver --no-daemon is still in use:

msx at heybeavis ~> ps aux | grep gnome-screensaver
msx       2582  0.0  0.2 555304 21596 ?        Sl   05:54   0:03
/usr/bin/gnome-screensaver --no-daemon
