Hi Maurice,
this means that there the package list got corrupt in some way while it
was downloaded and, as such, it could not be read by apt.
Open a Terminal and type (on one line):
sudo rm
/var/lib/apt/lists/archive.canonical.com_dists_precise_partner_binary-i386_Packages
then type "sudo apt-get update" to fix the problem.
