It's great that it pleases you! For older versions of Ubuntu, I simply
removed the instructions pertaining to them because they were just plain
confusing: for Ubuntu 8.10 and later, we have a set of instructions ; for
Ubuntu 8.04 to 9.04, we have another set of instructions (isn't 8.10 and
9.04 part of the first set of instructions) ; and for Ubuntu 9.10 and later,
we have the same first set of instructions!
Besides, there is the issue of EOL: 8.10 is EOL, 9.04 will be in one month,
and 8.04 in seven months (the last one receives mostly security updates).
That's why I removed these instructions, though you may put them there again
if you disagree.

Anyway, I've just updated the page to include a guide through Launchpad's
web interface. Can you please give your feedback (besides Brian Murray's
one, who already stated this was a bad idea)? It would be of course great if
someone could fix the grammar ; I'm not great with it :(
