Triage "Updated Version" bugs?

Generally these are "Wishlist" bugs, with a "Confirmed" status if the
version being requested is not in any Ubuntu release, and actually
exists.
As Paul said looking at Debian as well can be useful. If you do that
but aren't comfortable taking that forward to a sync request then
you can just mention your findings in the bug report. If there is a
Debian bug requesting the upgrade then you can add a bug task for
that as well.
