Console window problem

[Sadhana Sahasrabudhe]

Hi,

I have been facing this strange problem for a couple of days now.
When ever I type s like is ls or sudo a new window opens up.
I have not set up any such keyboard short cut.
Can some one please tell me how can I disable this?
