From daniel.holbach at ubuntu.com Mon Sep 3 10:38:00 2007 From: daniel.holbach at ubuntu.com (Daniel Holbach) Date: Mon, 03 Sep 2007 12:38:00 +0200 Subject: New python-launchpad-bugs API Message-ID: <1188815880.13071.65.camel@bert> Hello everybody, as a heads up, I wanted to let you know that Markus Korn's API changes in python-launchpad-bugs will hit Gutsy (version 0.2) soon. Markus has put a lot of effort in making the API more robust and straight-forward. This was part of his SoC project. This update will break everything using the old (<< 0.2) API. We will do a bughelper upload soon and also prepare the apport upload. This will address all packages in the archive that are using python-launchpad-bugs. Also http://daniel.holba.ch/bugs/ and http://daniel.holba.ch/sponsoring/ will be fixed and moved to people.ubuntu.com. Please update your scripts. Instructions can be found here: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BugHelper/Dev/python-launchpad-bugs/API_changes https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BugHelper/Dev/python-launchpad-bugs/Bug https://wiki.ubuntu.com/BugHelper/Dev/python-launchpad-bugs/API_changes/BugListExample Thank you, Markus, for your awesome work on this! It is "need-powerpc-retrace" nowadays (that was changed in the past for consistency with what dpkg --print-architecture prints out). However, the powerpc apport retracer bot does not get much love, because it is not a very popular platform. On Monday, when I am back online, I'll check its status and update it if necessary. We will be specifically taking a look at bugs reported when testing ISO images and bug reports regarding kernel version 2.6.22 used by Gutsy Gibbon. The event will be held in #ubuntu-bugs. The list of targeted bugs will be posted at: https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuBugDay/20070912 This list will be finalized shortly before the start of the 12th to ensure that all the bugs on it still need attention. Our goal is to deal with all of the bugs on that list. So on 12 September 2007, in all timezones, we'll be meeting in #ubuntu-bugs on irc.freenode.net for another Ubuntu Hug Day. https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuBugDay While you are welcome to apply to join the Ubuntu Quality Assurance team anytime, Hug Day is a great day to join! https://wiki.ubuntu.com/UbuntuQA If you're interested in helping, please stop by. And feel free to ask bdmurray, pedro, heno and the rest of the team for ways to help out. We hope to see you there and your name on the list of bug triagers! -- Brian Murray @ubuntu.com -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... On Monday, when I am back > online, I'll check its status and update it if necessary. It is running again. There was a backlog of 6 retraces [1] which are now processed. However, as they are quite old, the result will most probably be poor. Such bugs should be closed as invalid, and the reporter should be asked to file a new one if it still crashes on current gutsy.
