segui o tutorial do viva o linux

Contribuição de dica - Modem SM56 Motorola no Ubuntu? Mais é claro
porque não(desculpe não ter o link)

usei o drive slmodem-2.9.11-20070430
e o
ungrab-winmodem-20070430
e o
alsa-linux-2.6.0.patch

como já tinha instalado e compilado muitas coisas não lembro bem de tudo
mais o que o outros amigos falaram já pode te ajudar!

so deu uns problemas no começo para carregar no boot os modulos do ungrab,
mais resolvi ajeitando o modem(fisicamente) pois estava meio solto e parece que
deconectava toda vez sei lá.

para configurar a conexão utilizei
 $ sudo wvdialconf /etc/wvdial.conf
pra conectar uso
 $ sudo wvdial

em que ponto vc está?!
