[Ubuntu-BR] CUPS com problemas

Estou tentando instalar a impressora SAMSUNG ML-2010 no Ubuntu e não
estou conseguindo imprimir nada a partir dela, embora todos os tutoriais
que vejo na internet sejam unânimes em dizer que esta impressora
funciona muito bem no Linux. Depois de alguma fuçação descobri que o
problema pode estar relacionado ao CUPS.  Como essa parte do sistema é
uma caixa preta para mim, estou anexando o error-log contendo várias
tentativas de instalação e reinstalação para que alguém me dê uma luz.

Descrição do problema: impressora é configurada mas não imprime.
Trabalhos nem sequer entram na lista de trabalhos, vão direto para
"concluídos".
