[Ubuntu-BR] problemas com teclado em notebook

ola ubuntistas,

estou escrevendo pois estou apanhando para configurar o teclado do meu
notebook no ubuntu. ocorre o mesmo tanto no breezy quanto no dapper. o
layout do teclado eh britanico, se configuro o ubuntu para esse tipo de
layout a posicao das teclas fica perfeita, consigo digitar qualquer uma. o
problema eh q nao consigo colocar acento "em cima" das letras, se aperto a
tecla correspontende a um acento ele ja aparece na tela, por exemplo, soh
consigo escrever "^e" nao consigo escrever "ê". por outro lado se configura
para o teclado ABNT2 os acentos funcionam e consigo me virar bem mesmo nao
correspondendo o q esta escrito no teclado com o que aparece na tela, o
problema dessa configuracao eh q fico sem o ? e a /. a tecla correspondente
a esses caracteres simplesmente some. nenhuma das duas opcoes me agrada pois
ambas trazem um transtorno consideravel. por outro lado, uma solucao para
qualquer uma das duas me seria satisfatorio, nao tenho preferencia. alguem
saberia me ajudar? abaixo segue a configuracao atual do meu
xorg.conf(configuracao para teclado britanico, sem acentos
funcionando). obrigado,
