Fritz,

Yes BlueZ 5.37-0ubuntu5.1 is the version used by Ubuntu 16.04. However 
BlueZ is not a Bluetooth driver.

Bluetooth drivers are part of the Linux kernel and nothing to do with 
BlueZ. So you will need to ask about the kernel instead, either on a 
different mailing list or at:

The Archos 50b seems to be multiple different phones released in 
different years, so you will need to also specify what year and variant 
the phone is (Platinum, Cobalt etc).
