Public bug reported:
I've had this problem for a while with various versions of Gnome and Bluez but
it's most prominent in Ubuntu 10.04 and 10.10 where the daemon will drop into
uninterruptible sleep mode and refuse to allow the system to sleep. System
Monitor says its waiting channel "call_rwsem_down_read_failed"
The logs I can't say give any useful information but I ran
cat /var/log/* | grep bluetoothd
into the attached file so any devs might be able to get something out of
it.
I'm running Ubuntu 10.10 on a Lenovo T510
Intel i5 M540
Intel Corporation 5 Series/3400 Series Chipset
0a5c:217f Broadcom Corp. Bluetooth Controller
Description: Ubuntu 10.10
Release: 10.10
bluez:
Installed: 4.69-0ubuntu2
Candidate: 4.69-0ubuntu2
Version table:
*** 4.69-0ubuntu2 0
500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ maverick/main amd64 Packages
100 /var/lib/dpkg/status
Expect to happen: The computer is supposed to sleep and bluetoothd to be
suspended or quit on sleep.
What happened: Bluetoothd goes into Uninterruptible Sleep where it
refuses to allow the system to sleep. Reboot fixes issue but that
defeats the purpose of sleeping on a laptop.
** Affects: bluez (Ubuntu)
Importance: Undecided
Status: New
