I'm also affected by this bug. I have a D-Link USB Dongle.

Bus 001 Device 004: ID 0a12:0001 Cambridge Silicon Radio, Ltd Bluetooth Dongle (HCI mode)

uname -a: 
Linux ws36 2.6.38-8-generic-pae #42-Ubuntu SMP Mon Apr 11 05:17:09 UTC 2011 i686 i686 i386 GNU/Linux

I attached the (grepped) syslog-output. Around 07:42:50, I manually
killed and restarted bluetoothd and then the bluetooth-applet worked as
expected.
