I have the same problem. To make matters worse, my bluetooth mouse
(Microsoft IntelliMouse Explorer for Bluetooth) only works when my
computer is discoverable.

Changing the name and clicking ok gives me the following with gvfs-monitor-file:
File Monitor Event:
File = /var/lib/bluetooth/00:50:F2:EA:73:54/config
Event = CHANGES_DONE_HINT
File Monitor Event:
File = /var/lib/bluetooth/00:50:F2:EA:73:54/config
Event = CHANGED
File Monitor Event:
File = /var/lib/bluetooth/00:50:F2:EA:73:54/config
Event = CHANGES_DONE_HINT
