I had the same problem when resumed my Ubuntu from hibernation. Resuming took about 30 minutes because some running virtual machines in virtualbox were resumed too.
At first pulseaudio crashed (assertion failure, it cannot be sent by apport) and then bluetoothd crashed.

Used SW:
Ubuntu 9.10, amd64
Package: bluez 4.51-0ubuntu2
