Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: bluez

I am using an Asus eee 1000 on Jaunty (then Beta). I used the "sudo hidd
--search" command which was entirely successful and permanent fix to get
my Microsoft Mouse 5000 to pair. I have been running error free with my
Microsoft 5000 bluetooth mouse until today.

Today updates loaded the new bluez suite of packages updating from
version 4 to version 4.1. It immediately caused my mouse to malfunction
again. Messing around with pairing was only a temporary solution. After
reboots, repairing, re-appling the hidd --search command I gave up.

I force regressed the package suite bluez from 4.1 to 4 using Synaptic
Package Manager, Package tab, Forced Version tab.

I immediately got my mouse back. I tested by allowing the netbook to
sleep and reboot. All reconnected shortly after boot up.

Looks like this update is broken. Regression of the package worked for
me.

Release 9.04 Jaunty, netbook remix kernel 2.6.28-11
Package problem bluez version 4.1. Package regression forced bluetooth, bluez-cups, libbluetooth3, bluez-alsa to regress to package version 4.0 as well. Did not have to use "sudo hidd --search" command to re-pair the mouse. After regression of packages normal automatic connection worked.
Asus eee 1000, Microsoft Mouse 5000.
