@ld2ndR; I'm afraid that solution isn't good enough.  I own a Cybershot
5MP Camera phone which has a very large directory.  When trying to
browse it to transfer files to the PC, ubuntu panics and can't display
the folder contents.  Is there any way of enabling the much simpler way
of just sending the file from your phone and having the PC accept it?

Error message received is;

Did not receive a reply. Possible causes include: the remote application
did not send a reply, the message bus security policy blocked the reply,
the reply timeout expired, or the network connection was broken.

I don't receive this message when browsing smaller directories
