Public bug reported:
Binary package hint: gnome-bluetooth
Bluetooth menus (clicking icon) are changing in a confusing manner and
you cannot do an OFF-ON-OFF cycle as the 'Turn off Bluetooth' selection
disappears after first usage :
This is not an actual 'bug' as nothing crashes. It is like a
malfunction.
Easily reproducible with the next actions:
- Boot PC, checked via Bios setup (F2) that all onboard peripherals are enabled
- Boot 9.10
- Click on Bluetooth icon shows all selections black (can be used) and only the first one gray ('Bluetooth on' as it is already on)
- Click to turn it OFF
- Clicking again to icon a completely different menu appears, where you cannot see 'Turn on', but you can use 'Preferences' and then click on a 'large button'
- From now you cannot turn Bluetooth OFF till a reboot (no menu selection or button)
My system is updated dist-upgraded till today. Searching this forum I
did not found any similar note.
kernel: 2.6.31-999-generic #200908271000 and 2.6.31-8
Package: gnome-bluetooth Version: 2.27.8-0ubuntu1
Searching forums read a fix: 'use blueman!' but as gnome-bluetooth is
the default I preferred to report it.
Regards,
George
