Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: libkbluetooth0

Description: Ubuntu 8.04.3 LTS
Release: 8.04

libkbluetooth0:
  Installed: 1.0~beta9~r769275-0ubuntu1
  Candidate: 1.0~beta9~r769275-0ubuntu1
  Version table:
 *** 1.0~beta9~r769275-0ubuntu1 0
        500 http://gb.archive.ubuntu.com hardy/main Packages
        100 /var/lib/dpkg/status

Belkin F8T012 USB stick.

I insert the bluetooth dongle, start "Kbluetooth Bluetooth Server" from the System menu. On my mobile I search for ubuntu device and select pair with it. My phone asks to make a password, when entered Kbluetooth pops up a dialog asking for the password. This is accepted and then a message box pops up saying the pairing to my phone is successful. The message box stays on the screen and the PC is now locked solid !!! It will not respond to Ctrl+Alt+Bksp or Ctrl+Alt+Sysreq+r,e,i,s,u,b,o / Ctrl+Alt+Del. No mouse response, no power button response. Only a forced power off option is left, this then creates orphaned inodes which are repaired. I have tried this again and the bugs is repeatable. The system logs shows nothing except that everything just stopped suddenly.

** Affects: kdebluetooth (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
