Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: bluez

Ubuntu 8.10, bluez 4.12-0ubuntu5
I have a Bluetooth device that was functioning perfectly under 8.04
It is still there :
# lsusb
Bus 001 Device 005: ID 2001:f111 D-Link Corp. [hex] DBT-122 Bluetooth adapter

It is still seen by hciconfig :
# hciconfig
hci0:	Type: USB
BD Address: 00:00:00:00:00:00 ACL MTU: 0:0 SCO MTU: 0:0
	DOWN
	RX bytes:0 acl:0 sco:0 events:0 errors:0
	TX bytes:18 acl:0 sco:0 commands:6 errors:0

but not by hcitool :
# hcitool dev
Devices:

and hiciconfig cannot start it :
# hciconfig hci0 up
Can't init device hci0: Connection timed out (110)

I thought restarting the deamon could help but there is no hcid any more :
# hcid restart
bash: hcid : commande introuvable

** Affects: bluez (Ubuntu)
     Importance: Undecided
         Status: New
