Philips Bluetooth Stereo Headset SHB7100 with default pincode 0000 also can not be paired with Ubuntu 8.10.
(only the clock offset seems to be different between my SHB6100 and the SHB7100)

$ hcitool scan
Scanning ...

$ hcitool inq 00:0C:78:xx:xx:xx
