** Attachment added: "syslog-dund-temp-fix"
   http://launchpadlibrarian.net/20600793/syslog-dund-temp-fix

** Description changed:

  Binary package hint: bluetooth

On ubuntu 8.04.1 with all updates as of 2008-12-20, with dund enabled in
/etc/default/bluetooth, dund doesn't start up. I tracked it down to the
dund process starting before hcid has a chance to start the sdp service.
dund complains there's no sdp service and exits. I've attached relevant
excerpt of syslog called "syslog-dund-error". Note the timestamps. I
would consider this a race condition.

I temporarily fixed by adding "sleep 5" before the call to "start_pan"
in /etc/init.d./bluetooth . I've also attached an excerpt from syslog
- after applying this "fix" called .
+ after applying this "fix" called "syslog-dund-temp-fix".

  Many thanks!

  Jeremy
