hello, sorry to barge in like this, but i notice someone proposing to meet in gent for a drink. might be a nice occasion to get to know some ubuntu-users in east-flanders, and do some brainstorming on what you (we) can do locally to help spread ubuntu with every-day computer users. let me introduce myself : i am a journalist for avs local television, linux usr since 1998 @home, @work still struggling to get them to switch to <a href="http://openoffice.org"> openoffice.org</a>, let alone getting them convinced to use linux, firefox introduced in september 06, though nobody uses it (internet explorer is still present, still giving us problems as well). convinced some home users though and helped them, first with ubuntu-live, then to make a dual-boot windows/ubuntu-system at their home computers (WINDOWS OFFLINE, UBUNTU-LINUX ONLINE) which reduced their virus-trojan-adware-malware problems significantly. may be a good strategy : first try without install, then install dual-boot. but the point is : how about a get-together in Gent? p peter stuart journalist AVS -- Linux usr #206738 Linux Counter <a href="http://counter.li.org">http://counter.li.org</a>
