FOSDEM (Free and Open Source Developers' European Meeting) is a
conference for and by open source developers & other people involved
with open source.  Free entrance, community run, no commercial bullshit.
And it is probably the largest conference like that in the world
(thousands of visitors each year).

FOSDEM is held in Brussels (actually Elsene/Ixelles, a suburb of
Brussels) at the ULB university campus, on February 4 & 5 (and with a
"beer event" on Friday the 3th to get some "social" time too).
